The beginnings of the A.P.C are produced by an accident, Jean Touitou, the founder of the brand Atelier de Production et Creation In 1987, after losing his luggage via Barcelona, Jean wanted to buy a pair of jeans and underwear and realized that there was no clothing acceptable enough for him. At that moment he began with the idea of his mark. 

Jean grew up by appreciating simple things, with a minimalist aesthetic and preference for both classic and pure materials instead of dish-quality washes. Before the brand was born, he worked as a designerdesigner by an important number of brands, but after the incident in Barcelona, Touitou received a high quality denim roll brought directly from Japan, and there started A.P.C. 

The first store of the brand opened in 1988 and the collections have not changed much season after season since that moment, 30 years later, the brand has maintained its essence of focusing on the basics and putting the good quality always ahead.
